SANDY’S GRANDKIDS ROOM
When Sandra first contacted me, we discussed a spare room she had in the house that needed a big overhaul, she was looking to create a room that would be suitable for the grandkids that have recently come into the family, however she also noted that she wanted there to be enough floor space to put a portable spare bed in the room if they had family staying during holiday periods. It was a great sized room to work with and didnt require big renovations. Just required a fresh coat of paint and new lighting all round. The client also mentioned that she wanted to do new flooring in the future but for now would keep the existing carpet.
The original mood board had so much potential! Sandra wasn’t 100% sure what she was looking for in the room, so I created some Pinterest boards, and during the consultation we were able to find things she was really drawn to, some of which being, light tones, rich colours, lots of natural elements and classic children’s toys. We also had to include some existing things in the room such as a dark wood baby cot, a large wooden desk, kids toys/books and the original flooring.
This is the final mood board we create as an example to match up with the original inspiration board, this board includes the products we found and used in the final project, its wonderful to be able to see how many great things you can find second hand that are so close, and sometimes better than the original inspiration.
